Join us in this Dutch Letter Homestead event and learn hands-on skills to make your own homemade Kombucha - AND take it to the next level into a secondary fermentation to make a fizzy, naturally flavored soda. This is a Van Wijk Winery co-sponsored "Live Local" event.
From this experience, you will watch a demonstration with instructions to make Kombucha from a SCOBY and learn about the benefits of this probiotic rich beverage. There will be an opportunity to taste raw Kombucha and a fizzy, naturally flavored soda.
Kombucha is a slightly fizzy fermented sweetened black tea that is probiotic rich and can be infused with additional flavors once in the bottle. It creates a SCOBY * and contains live bacteria and wild yeasts that benefit your digestive system. Among other benefits, the polyphenols in kombucha act as strong antioxidants and help to decrease inflammation in the body and contribute to overall gut health.
Before purchasing tickets, choose your level of participation:
1. Hands-On: Ticket price includes printed instructions and hands-on guidance and some time for Q&A, a pint jar of kombucha with live cultures and a SCOBY, and a flip-top bottle of Kombucha that you will infuse with additional flavors to start a secondary fermentation.
2. Observe Only: Ticket price includes the opportunity to watch and listen to the presentation and the Q&A discussion. Additionally, there will be a day-of option to upgrade your class to "Hands-On" if you choose to enhance your experience.
Sales Kiosk: Dutch Letter Homestead will showcase a display of items for sale in case you want to purchase flip-top bottles, freeze-dried natural fruits and spices for flavoring, and other supplies to help you make fermented products.Love where you live!

- HON - General Admission - $25.00 per person for the remaining 10 tickets.
2. Ticket Type: Observe Only (OON)
- OON - Early Bird Price: $5.00 each for the first 5 tickets sold.
- OON - General Admission - $7.00 per person for the remaining 5 tickets.
